Experience Required
• Certificate III in Early Education and Care (or ACECQA approved equivalent) OR Actively Working Towards Certificate III in Early Education and Care
• Salary Range Dependent on your experience.
• Sound understanding of the National Quality Framework, including National Law & Regulations, National Quality Standard and the • Early Years Learning Framework.
• Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care.
• Collaborate with team members to create and maintain a supportive, clean, welcoming and inclusive learning environment.
• An empathy with the Modern Orthodox Jewish Day School ethos is essential.
Essential Requirements:
• Valid NSW Working with Children’s Check
• Training demonstrating current knowledge of Child Protection and Child Safety Training (Foundations of Child Safety Training -Geccko )
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Full Working Rights (no student visas)
• 2x Reference Checks from Childcare
• 1-2 years of experience in early childhood education, desirable.

Position: Classroom Teacher with a Gifted and Talented speciality - 1.0FTE

Mount Sinai College is an independent, co‑educational Jewish Day School located in Maroubra, in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, approximately 10km southeast of the CBD. Set in a coastal community just south of Coogee, the College provides outstanding education from Early Learning to Year 6, underpinned by Jewish values, academic excellence, and strong community engagement.

The opportunity
Mount Sinai College is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Classroom Teacher with a Gifted & Talented specialty to join our Primary School team. This full‑time temporary position is available from 13th April 2026 and runs until 10 December 2026, with the possibility of extension into 2027.
The role centres on leading, enhancing, and implementing high‑quality teaching and learning practices for gifted and high‑potential students across the College. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with staff to design enrichment opportunities, support differentiated practice, and contribute to a culture of academic excellence grounded in the College’s Jewish values.
The key responsibilities are:
• Develop, deliver, and evaluate enriched and extension learning programs for students K–6.
• Support classroom teachers in differentiating curriculum and instructional strategies to cater for a range of advanced learning needs.
• Use data and assessment tools to identify high‑potential and gifted students.
• Collaborate with teachers, executive staff, and learning support teams to ensure best practice in gifted education.
• Contribute to a culture of academic excellence aligned with the College’s Jewish values.
• Participate in professional learning that enhances whole‑school gifted education practice.
• Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding student progress.
The ideal candidate will be:
• An experienced, highly skilled educator with a demonstrated track record in gifted and talented education.
• Knowledgeable in current research, best practice pedagogy, and enrichment/extension frameworks.
• Collaborative, adaptable, and committed to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Accredited with NESA.
• Commitment to supporting the ethos and values of Mount Sinai College
• In possession of a valid NSW Working With Children Check.
• Ability to obtain a NSW Police Clearance
