Chai Giving Circle
There is a profound symbolism in the shape of a circle.
With its unbroken and continuous curve, it has long been recognised as a symbol of unity, wholeness, eternity and interconnectedness. Circles permeate our lives in ways both seen and unseen - a circle of friends and family often surrounds us all offering support, companionship through life’s trials and triumphs.
Our Mount Sinai College Chai Giving Circle is similarly based on this significant premise – offering a continuous circle of support for those who are not in a position to experience the wonders of being part of the Mount Sinai family.
Jewish tradition has long embraced the symbolism of ‘Chai” which serves as a powerful reminder of the value and sanctity of life itself. Chai prompts us to cherish each moment, to embrace the blessings that surround us, and reminds us that happiness doesn’t result from what we get, but from what we give, particularly as we aim to support children and families in a specifically meaningful and purposeful way in providing a joyous and memorable Mount Sinai education.
Just as the circle of life encompasses the fullness of life, we believe that our collective actions, no matter how small, will have the power to ripple outwards creating positive change in the world around us and moreover, for the many families who could benefit. Our Chai Giving Circle aims to embody the unity, compassion and generosity that circles symbolically represent.
Your recurring gift will create an ongoing, circular relationship between you and our community. Becoming a Chai Giving supporter allows you to join a dedicated group of givers who understand the importance of a continued investment in the growth of the Jewish community through a Jewish education.
